2012 NFL Draft: The Specialists - Some great late round grabs/FA

ALL PURPOSE PLAYERS
WR Ty Hinton Florida International 5-10 183 Projected RD 5 Deadly when the ball is in his hands. Consistently runs a 4.3/40. Soft handed, elusive and is a natural athlete. Has shown that he can hurt teams rushing, catching, returning kicks/punts and even passing. Some durability concerns. (R3 Ind)
RB Johnathan Grimes William & Mary 5-10 207 Projected FA Could be a great steal. Can do it all. He's been a top rushing performer that has superb hands. Experienced KR as well. Surprisingly strong, Johnathan is also very agile, athletic and quick. Runs a round a 4.5/40. (FA Hou)
RB Bobby Rainey Western Kentucky 5-7 205 Projected RD 7 Stocky and tough runner that is quick through the hole. Runs about a 4.5/40, has great vision. Ran for over 1600 yards and double digit TDs the past two seasons. Bobby also has great hands out of the backfield and was a fantastic returnman in 2009. (FA Bal)
RB Brock Jackolski Stony Brook 5-9 200 Projected FA Dominating rusher and kick returner, transfer from Hofstra. Solid body and excellent speed. Decent hands out of the backfield.
RB Rodney Stewart Colorado 5-7 180 Projected FA More quick than fast. He's a shifty runner with excellent vision. Arguably, may have the best hands out of any RB in the Draft. He's been a top rusher and has returned kicks. (FA Cin)
RB Marc Wilson St. Anselm 5-11 186 Projected FA I believe that this kid is a rare athlete. Former 1,000 yard rusher that was the teams top receiver this season with 72 catches. Has been a great KR that can run a 4.5/40. Has also tossed 6TD passes in 2008. Marc has good cuts, lateral movement, agility and quickness. Also has a 38.5" VJ. (FA Ari)
RB Austin Minefee Southern Utah 5-8 204 Projected FA Runs a 4.45/40. Possesses good straight ahead speed, is strong and can jump well. All around solid player that can rush, catch the ball and is a deadly KR.
RB Kendall Owens Thomas More 5-8 180 Projected FA A jack-of-all trades guy. Superb versatility and speed. Kendall shows vision as a rusher and good pass catching ability. A threat to score as a KR or PR (3TDs in 2011).
WR Deonte Gist Tusculum 5-8 165 Projected FA Speedy little receiver that has been one of the team's performers over the past two seasons. Could be an excellent NFL kick returner (29.4 avg, 2TDs in '11). Also effective on end arounds and can return punts. Maybe a bit fragile.
RB Donte Harden Ohio 5-10 175 Projected FA Has injury concerns and does not test as the most athletic player out there, but Donte is a smart football player that gets the job done. Can return kicks, is a hard runner and has soft hands. (INV NO)

KICK RETURNER
DB Stephan Neville Stonehill 5-8 175 Projected FA One of the best KR in the country. He is seemingly unstoppable at times. Small and elusive, great vision and moves. has an impressive 10 Kick Return TDs in his 4yr college career. (FA Mon CFL)
WR Traveon Rogers New Mexico State 5-11 190 Projected FA Could be a fantastic grab as a FA. Runs a blazing 4.33/40 and has great elusivness. Really showed his home run ability as a receiver this season. But his bread and butter is his KR skills (3TDs in 2011). (FA Cin)
RB Deante Purvis UNLV 5-10 198 Projected FA Flipped between DB and RB a few times in his career, but his KR skills have always remained superb. Deante runs a 4.35/40 and has a 41" VJ. Wouldn't hurt to give him a shot at the next level. (FA SF)
DB Dontae Smith East Central 6-0 176 Projected FA One of the top KR in the country this season. He averaged 35y/kr and scored 2TDs. Dontae is also a solid DB that can tackle and cover.
WR Luther Ambrose La.-Monroe 5-8 183 Projected FA His size has hurts his stock as a WR. Does have good hands (65r in 2010) but is viewed as strictly a returnman. A good scoring threat as a KR and he averaged 31.1 y/kr. Moves well and uses his great quickness effectively. (FA TB)
WR Cody Pearcy Huntingdon 5-10 161 Projected FA Small but you can't ignore his 4.3 speed. Has been a record setting returnman and a great pass catcher. (FA Atl)
DB Laron Scott Georgia Southern 5-8 183 Projected FA Undersized DB, although he has done pretty well at his level. Speedy KR that has dominated at that position. Runs a 4.4/40. (FA NO)
WR Trevor Kennedy Mercyhurst 5-11 175 Projected FA Not only has trevor been a dominating receiver at Mercyhurst. He's also been a quick and elusive return specialist. Scored a KR TD in 2011 and 2 PR TDs in 2010. (INV TB)
WR Trey Fairchild Otterbein 6-0 193 Projected FA Overlooked athlete that redhsirted at Syracus in 2008. Good size/speed combo. Teams big play receiver this season. Excellent KR.

PUNT RETURNER
WR TJ Graham NC State 5-11 188 Projected RD 7 An elite return specialist. Has track star speed and quickness. Good agility. Not the strongest, has average hands. (R3 Buf)
WR Joe Adams Arkansas 5-11 179 Projected RD 5 Joe is a very steady pass catcher. He has decent speed and great moves. Scored 4TDs on PR's this season. (R4 Car)
WR Devon Wylie Fresno State Projected RD 6 A great receiver and very hard worker. His PR skills are second to none. (R4 KC)
WR Clarence Anderson Ottawa (KS) 5-8 168 Projected FA Clarence is a hard worker, solid on special teams and dominated the NAIA as a receiver. Excellent hands and blazing speed (has run sub-4.4). Elusive on returns; scored 2TDs on KR (26.4 avg) and 2TDs on PR (21.8 avg). Deserves a shot as a returnman.
DB Greg McCoy TCU 5-10 181 Projected RD 7 Runs a 4.43/40, is a fair DB that averages about 2 picks per year. Averaged 30.5 y/KR and scored 2TDs (R7 Chi)
WR DeMario Barber Fort Valley State 5-7 160 Projected FA Incredibly quick, great vision and runs a 4.4/40. Small and fragile, but can be very elusive. Decent hands. Averaged 19.6 y/pr and scored 2TDs this season.
WR Wes Chamblee Wabash 5-10 170 Projected FA Can run in the 4.45-4.50 range. All around solid athlete. Always a threat to score had 10 receiving TDs and one on a KR. It's his PR skills that are truly special, he averaged 21.8 y/pr and scored 3TDs in 2011.
WR Dan Ruffrage Ithaca 5-11 180 Projected FA All American that is one of the best receivers in school history. Awesome as a KR and PR (averaged 26.2 y/pr, 2TDs)
WR Eric Page Toledo 5-9 186 Projected RD 6 Eric is extremely agile and quick. Not the fastest or biggest, but he's been an excellent return specialist. Has solid all purpose skills; he's got 25 career receiving TDs, 4 TDs on returns and 4TDs passing. (FA TB)
DB Nate Robinson Northeastern State (OK) 5-9 170 Projected FA All American DB, great hands and athleticism. Was a good scoring threat at PR this season.
DB CJ Estelle Tennessee-Martin 5-9 168 Projected FA A small DB that may strictly be a special teamer. Led the FCS with 17.6 y/PR.
CB Janoris Jenkins North Alabama 5-10 193 Projected RD 1-2 Everybody has heard of Janoris Jenkins by know. Incredibly gifted and athletic, some off field concerns. But, did you know that he's possible the best punt returner in the draft? Obviously not a steal, but I had to toss him in there. (R2 Stl)

2012 NFL Draft PT2: The best steals in the middle to late rounds

DEFENSIVE ENDS
1. Derrick Shelby - 6-3 266 Utah Projected RD 7 All this kid does is make plays. Not super big but gets the job done. He has excellent leaping ability and is great at blocking passes. More quick than fast and is surprisingly strong. (FA Min)

1. Scott Solomon - 6-3 262 Rice Projected RD 7 Scott was an extremely productive player at Rice. Has been a good leader that works hard on and off the field. He's got tremendous athletic ability, agility, quickness and a good eye for the ball. Is well built and very strong. (R7 Ten)

2. Jake Bequette - 6-5 275 Arkansas Projected RD 5 The scouting reports on Jake Bequette typically talk about his average athleticism, but I'm telling you this kid is way more athletic than most may think. He just needs to harness it and translate it to the football field. He does possess fantastic athleticism, quickness and agility. Is also big and strong. The main draw to this guy is his intensity, toughness and drive. (R3 NE)

2. Jamie Blatnick - 6-3 263 Oklahoma State Projected RD 7 Powerful for his size, gets great leverage and has superb body control. Is explosive and can wreak havoc on QB's. (FA Den)

DEFENSIVE TACKLE
1. Vaughn Meatoga - 6-1 295 Hawaii Projected RD 7 If you can find the right role for this guy, he could dominate. Short but stocky. Vaughn measures right up there with the DE's when it comes to quickness and movement. (FA Was)

1. Derek Wolfe - 6-5 295 Cincinatti Projected RD 5 Athletically, Derek Wolfe measures as one of the top DT's. Has good height, upper body strength, quickness, mobility and agility. Also, plays hard and with fierce intensity. His lack of a true position seems to be a concern. (R4 Den)

2. Markus Kuhn - 6-5 299 NC State Projected RD 6 Known as strictly a power DT. Markus really showed his athletic side at the Combine. He looked awesome on the shuttle, 40, vertical and cone. He just needs to work this into his game plan. (R7 NYG)

2. JR Sweazy - 6-5 298 NC State Projected RD 7 Could be a big time surprise. Does not have the eye popping stats, but he knows how to play. Great quickness and jumping ability. Has played DE as well. (R7 Sea)

OUTSIDE LINEBACKER
1. Demario Davis - 6-2 235 Arkansas State Projected RD 4 If he does indeed fall to the 4th round, this would be a great grab. Is an underrated player. Davis led all OLB at the Combine with 38.5" vertical and a 124" broad jump. Not terribly fast or quick, but he has agility and excellent moves. Is incredibly strong for his size (225lb 32x). (R3 NYJ)

1. Darius Fleming - 6-2 245 Notre Dame Projected RD 7 Darius is a very good athlete. His abilities are overall solid; his strength, quickness and agility are all good. With some more coaching he could be groomed into an outstanding NFL player. (R5 SF)

2. Brandon Marshall - 6-1 242 Nevada Projected RD 7 Tackling machine with a real nose for the ball. Good athlete that has more quickness than straight up speed. Great lateral movement and agility. (R5 Jax)

2a. Nathan Stupar - 6-2 241 Penn State Projected FA Tremendous agility and movement, not the fastest or quickest but he's a playmaker. Smart kid that has great character and work ethic. (R7 Oak)

2b. Brandon Lindsey - 6-2 254 Pitt Projected RD 7 Very strong, smart and aggressive player. Does lack great quickness but seems to always make plays. Is a student of the game. Finding his true position has always been a struggle. (FA Pit)

INSIDE LINEBACKER
1. Chris Galippo - 6-2 241 USC Projected RD 7 His natural athleticism has typically been in question, but he looked down right awesome on the cone and shuttle at the combine. His speed is lacking, but Chris has amazing instincts, awareness and on field intelligence. (FA Ind)

1. Shawn Loiseau - 6-1 244 Merrimack Projected RD 7 The big question is whether he can make the leap from DII. Hits hard, not the fastest but has incredible instincts. He's also been a true leader on defense. (FA Hou)

2. Caleb McSurdy - 6-1 245 Montana Projected RD 7 Caleb is a strong and athletic kid. He runs extremely well for his size and shows excellent agility. (R7 Dal)

2. Noah Keller - 6-1 242 Ohio Projected RD 7 I really like this kid. Four year starter and a team captain, Noah has been a monster tackler with good speed for his size. He's got a good head on his shoulders and is a smart athlete. (FA Stl)

CORNERBACK
1. Asa Jackson - 5-10 191 Cal Poly SLO Projected RD 5 Some may see his size as an issue, but you can't go wrong with his skills. Asa is a fast corner that makes big plays and can tackle very well. Surprisingly strong for his size. Is an excellent return specialist as well. (R5 Bal)

1. Coty Sensabaugh - 5-11 189 Clemson Projected RD 6 One of the better man-coverage corners in college football. Great speed, agility, quickness and instincts. Needs to work on tackling. (R4 Ten)

2. Terrence Frederick - 5-10 187 Texas A&M Projected RD 6 Does have good speed, but it's his tremendous agility and fluid moves that really stand out. An all around solid athlete. Instinctive at breaking up passes. (R7 Pit)

2. Quinton Richardson - 5-11 205 Washington Projected RD 7 Got labelled as inconsistent in his senior year. If he can squash that perception, then he'll be a keeper. At his size Richardson has run a sub 4.4 in the 40. (INV NO, FA CFL Mtrl)

FREE SAFETY
1. Eddie Whitley - 6-1 191 Virginia Tech Projected FA Eddie is a talented athlete. He always does whatever is asked of him and plays an intelligent brand of football. His durability is a strong suit, as is his 4.4 speed. An excellent tackler as well. (FA Dal)

2. Robert Blanton - 6-1 208  Notre Dame Projected RD 7 Could be better suited for Safety. Runs around 4.5 with great overall quickness. He's endurant and tough, tackles very effectively. Robert's agility is excellent. (R5 Min)

STRONG SAFETY
1. Cory White - 6-0 206 Samford Projected FA To get this kid as a free agent would certainly be a real treat. After really opening eyes at the Combine with his great jumping ability, agility and quickness; Corey surpassed his combine showing ... at his Pro Day he ran a 4.4/40 and posted a 41.5" vertical. (R5 Min)

2. Jerron McMillian - 5-11 203 Maine Projected RD 7 Had a very productive career at Maine. Jerron is an awesome athlete with great fluid movement and good agility. Can jump very well. (R4 GB)

2012 NFL Draft: The best steals in the middle to late rounds

This list is of those players that I like in the middle to late rounds of this upcoming NFL Draft. I feel that these guys can make a decent impact on an NFL team.

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS
1. Brock Osweiler - Arizona State 6-7 242 Projected RD 3 The highest pick (rd. 3 ) on my list but he still projects out of the top 5 for QB's in the draft. Athletically, this kid is top notch. Great size, mobility and a basketball players agility. Can throw a strong deep ball but also has a quick release. The downside is his lack of experience (1 year starting in college) and a few mechanical flaws but all of this can be worked out. (R2 Den)

2a. Russell Wilson - Wisconsin 5-11 204 Projected RD. 4 Started at NC State and dominated, transferred to Wisconsin and dominated. Russell can make every throw, is one of the smartest QB's out there, rarely makes mistakes and does nothing but win. Other than his size, there is nothing bad you can say about him. Also a standout baseball player that had been drafted by the Rockies. Had an impressive 31TDs and only 3 picks in 2011! (R3 Sea)

2b. Nick Foles - Arizona 6-5 243 Projected RD 6 Overall athleticism, he falls somewhere around average. He has size and can toss a decent deep ball. Not quick but has effective footwork. Needs coaching. What I really like about him is that he is poised, confident and smart. Nick has qualities that just can't be taught. Had over 4,000 passing yards in 2011. (R3 Phi)

RUNNING BACKS
1. Ronnie Hillman - San Diego State 5-9 200 Projected RD 4 He is projected somewhere out of the top ten RB's in the draft. I typically would be leery of a Sophomore, but he has the "it" factor and he will be turning 21 this year. Was dominating in his first two seasons at SDSU. Ronnie can seemingly do it all. He's fast outside but surprisingly tough in the middle. Blocks well, catches the ball well and has a knack for getting in the endzone. (R3 Den)

2.Chris Rainey - Florida 5-8 180 Projected RD 4 I see him as a Darren Sproles type of back. You never know though, he may surprise everybody and be an effective starter. He's got blazing speed, uncanny elusiveness and great hands. Is a special teams demon. Has trouble blocking on offense, maybe that can be worked out at the next level. (R5 Pit)

FULLBACKS
1. Emil Igwenagu - UMass 6-1 248 Projected RD 6 Emil is a fantastic athlete. Runs well, jumps well and plays a physical brand of football. He's played LB, FB, TE and H-back. Great hands and can also block extremely well. Whatever team grabs him will not be disappointed. (FA Phi)

2. Drake Dunsmore - Northwestern 6-2 241 Projected RD 7 Just an all around great athlete. More of a TE/h-back than a true FB. But regardless, this guy is a powerful blocker that has one of the best set of hands in the draft. Smart player, runs good routes and gets open. (R7 TB)

WIDE RECEIVERS
1. Marvin Jones - California 6-2 199 Projected RD 4 I really think that Marvin Jones will be a real surprise in the NFL. His numbers at Cal are very good, but not earth shattering. He's a natural athlete that runs in the 4.4's and has surprising strength (put up 225lb 22x at the combine). Not afraid to fight with corners, can jump well for the ball and has excellent concentration. (R5 Cin)

1. Devon Wylie - Fresno State 5-9 187 Projected RD 6 His only real limitation is his size. Devon is a fast, tough and agile receiver. Can also be a dangerous punt returner. All this kid does is work his butt off, this has opened eyes and may have risen his draft stock. Could even go earlier. (R4 KC)

1. Junior Hemingway - Michigan 6-1 225 Projected RD 5 Stats don't reflect this kids tremendous ability. Runs in the 4.5's but has shown some deep threat ability at Michigan. At 225 pounds Junior led all receivers in the 3-Cone and Shuttle at the NFL combine. He also put up 225lbs 21 times. Incredibly athletic, agile and skilled; he can be a solid NFL receiver. (R7 KC)

2. Chris Owusu - Stanford 6-0 196 Projected RD 7 Looked great at the combine. Athletically, he fairs well across the board. Blazing sub-4.4 speed, surprising strength, tremendous leaping ability and superb agility. He's simply an athlete. Has not grabbed a ton of passes at Stanford but holds his own and gets open. In the past he's shown a knack for returning kicks (3TDs in 2010). Injury problems are the biggest concern. (FA SF)

2. Keshawn Martin - Michigan State 6-0 188 Projected FA Has just about everything you want athletically. Jumps extremely well, runs about a 4.45, solid agility and very good hands. Is an eye opener as a returnman but his receiving ability should not be overlooked. Had 66 catches in 2011. Versatile kid that has scored via pass, run, catch, KR and PR. (R4 Hou)

2a. Kashif Moore - UConn 5-9 190 Projected FA Kashif is an athletic freak. At 5-9 he out-jumped every other receiver to post a 43.5" VJ. Runs in the low 4.4's, has been part of a championship track team, shows excellent agility and explosiveness. (FA Cin)

2b. Deonte Thompson - Florida 6-0 198 Projected FA It's hard to ignore the guy that ran a 4.32/40 at the NFL Combine. Despite a slow senior year, Deonte does have the ability to make catches. His size and speed is a good mix and he's a hard worker with confidence in his abilities. (FA Bal)

TIGHT ENDS
1. Michael Egnew - Missouri 6-5 252 Projected RD 4 Although he's ranked the number 5 TE, I feel that he is underrated. If he could improve his strength and blocking skills then he would be elite. Not the fastest, but has quickness and tremendous agility. Is a gifted athlete that can really jump for a man of his size. His hands are just as good as the top TE's in the class. (R3 Mia)

2. James Hanna - Oklahoma 6-4 252 Projected RD 6 Did not catch a ton of passes at Oklahoma, but when he did they were big. Blocks well and has size. His showing at the Combine was remarkable, although it did help his stock it still wasn't enough for him to crack the top ten TE's. He blew the competition away in the cone and shuttle, was first in the VJ, 3rd in the Broad Jump, 4th in the Bench and ran an awesome 4.49/40. (R6 Dal)

CENTER
1. David Molk - Michigan 6-1 298 Projected RD 6 Undersized, but tough as nails and incredibly strong. Put up 225lbs an impressive 41x at the combine. Started all four years. David is very smart, plays his heart out and is fearless. Some injury concerns. (R7 SD)

2. Moe Petrus - UConn 6-2 295 Projected FA Lacks the elite size. Moe has great athleticism, moves well and is quick. He is very experienced and has been a top college run blocker. (FA TB)

GUARD
1. Ryan Miller - Colorado 6-7 321 Projected RD 6 Strong, athletic and has good size. Ryan is versatile and can play OG or OT, the problem is figuring out where to put him at the next level. Seemingly does everything well. (R5 Cle)

1. Johnnie Troutman - Penn State 6-4 325 Projected FA Uses brute strength to out muscle opponents. A good leader on the line, well-sized. Has had some character issues but seems to be past it. (R5 SD)

2. Ronald Leary - Memphis 6-3 315 Projected RD 7 Ron is an experienced and durable OL. Has also played OT. Shows good leadership ability on the line. He has good upper body strength and strong legs. Not terribly big. (FA Dal)

2. Adam Gettis - Iowa 6-2 295 Projected RD 7 On the small side but he plays hard on every down. Experienced and very athletic. Could improve his strength, but has good technique and competitive nature. (R5 Was)

TACKLE
1. Tom Compton - South Dakota 6-5 315 Projected RD 5 Good size, strength and athleticism. Looked good in every category at the Combine, although he could have lifted more. Had a dominating career in the FCS. With some pro coaching Tom could be a real keeper. (R6 Was)

1. Nate Potter - Boise State 6-6 305 Projected RD 6 Tall lineman with quick feet and solid technique. A little rough around the edges and needs some coaching. Could improve his strength, but his athleticism is very impressive. (R7 Ari)

2. Andrew Datko - Florida State  6-6 315 Projected RD 6 A real standout on the FSU line. Has been a tremendous worker, very physical and surprisingly nimble for his size. Could have been top 10 if not for a big shoulder injury suffered in 2011. Should not be forgotten about. (R7 GB)

2. John Cullen - Utah 6-5 300 Projected FA Very fluid and quick, has superb footwork and plays with an intense physical nature. This kid has the fire and attitude to be a force on an NFL line. A bit raw and could get bigger. (FA NYJ)
