Matt's Draft Round One Ramble

Well now that round one is done with, I must say that I'm surprised at the amount of QB's in the first round. Also, I love nearly all of the O-Lineman taken in round one. This is very odd, I'm usually bored by lineman to be honest.

1. QB Cam Newton going number to the Panthers was a no brainer. Carolina hasn't had any excitment on offense since the Steve Smith mystique wore out. At the very least it will sell a ton of jersey's.
2. OLB Von Miller at number two to Denver is a can't miss pick. I'd say this kid is probebly the best overall athlete in the 1st round.
3. DT Marcell Dareus to Buffalo. This selection scares me, he's certainly big and can make plays. Hopefully he live up to the number three billing. The Bills can certainly use him.
 4. WR AJ Green to Cincinnati. He's a great player. The Bengals missed out on cashing in with Chad JOHNSON in his prime, so maybe AJ can help them out.
5. DB Patrick Peterson to Arizona. Arguably the top DB in the draft, he should make an impact immediatly in the d-backfield and in the return game.
6.WR Julius Jones to Atlanta. This is one of the best selections in RD1. His explosiveness, work ethic and skills should elevate the Falcons offense to new levels.
7. DE Aldon Smith to SF. One of the better pass rushers in this crop, but I still don't like the fact that they passed up on Quinn and Watts. Maybe they just wouldn't fit well.
8. Jake Locker to Tennessee. I know the whole world hates this pick, but I love it. There's no reason why the Tennessee offense isn't unstoppable with Chris Johnson at RB. The only times the passing game looked decent was with Kerry Collins. Jake Locker is a very smart and efficent QB. Sometimes that's better than pure athleticism.
9. OT Tyron Smith to Dallas. I'm still not sold on Smith. He's kind of raw in some ways. They passed on some great OT's.
10. QB Blaine Gabbert to Jacksonville. Another guy i'm not sold on yet. He's big, he's got great tools and was an effective college QB. I just don't know if he'll be much different than Garrard or even Leftwich was.
